Rapid Weight Loss Diets

Rapid weight loss diets work. There’s no question about it. Some work better than others, but almost all of them work. If you want to quickly lose 10 lbs., you most certainly can lose that weight in a week or so and feel like you’re getting somewhere. But are you really?

Generally speaking, rapid weight loss diets are a scam and don’t work for the long term. If you need to lose 20 pounds or more, the rapid diets just aren’t a good idea. Why? Because they don’t solve the real problem with your situation. The real problem is that you’re taking in too many calories and not burning off enough calories and this isn’t new. If you’re more than 20 pounds overweight, this probably didn’t just happen overnight. It’s probably been going for years, and a 10-day grapefruit fast or cabbage diet isn’t going to fix that problem.

What you really need to do is start eating smaller portions of healthy food and exercising regularly. You don’t have to go crazy. You don’t need to change everything about yourself all at once. Just start taking a walk every other day. Make it a 30 minute walk and do it whenever it’s convenient. Maybe take off lunch and do that. Maybe do it after dinner. Just start doing it every other day. When you’ve done that regularly for a couple of weeks or so, start walking every day. You will not believe what a change a daily 30 minute walk will make to your body, your mind, and your soul. You will feel better about your self if you do this.

As you begin your walking program, look for some simple things you can do to eat healthier. Commit to only hitting a drive through of fast food place once a week and stick to it. When you get that going, start reading up on alternative choices that can make the foods you like to eat healthier. A lot of people do really well with a mediterranean diet. Most Americans eat a lot of those foods already, but just need to learn to make them healthy. There’s plenty of good info about that online. Just keep reading about healthy eating and keep your walking program going. Over time, your body will change and you won’t need rapid weigh loss diets to do so.
